If you like Giorgio, you’ll LOVE Primo

Sorry, I’ve been a little quiet the past couple of orbits about the sun. I’m actually on a few days’ holiday, so I have been purposefully trying to lay low. However, the world of La Zona Muerta, your favorite lukewarm takes-based blog, never stops. Just today, no fooling, I received an email from a bot real person, offering to boost my SEO profile for this very site. Fiddlesticks to that, I say. I’ll continue to post vague, semi-alluring headlines that may or may not connect to articles and do a poor job of promoting myself, thank you very much!

In the meantime, enjoy a painting I completed today based on one of my favorite cartoons of all time: The Dover Boys at Pimento University or the Rivals of Roquefort Hall

NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW

The drawing, obviously, was not that difficult; even tho I still struggle a bit with making lines look organic. No, the bugbear on this one was 1) trying to paint it and 2) trying to paint it as if it were a cel with flatter colors on a more obviously painted background. Did I succeed? I didn’t NOT succeed, I guess.

I think I have the bits and pieces ready for my home photo studio kit, so hopefully some LONG awaited Transformers pics to come this week, plus if anything gets my dander up in the world of the squared circle, I’ll fire off some quick thoughts about that, as well. Been trying to stay away from that sordid world too, quite frankly, but something will undoubtedly lure me back in.
